The NUVETEST is a qualitative swab for clinicians evaluating women with vaginal symptoms. This device is a vaginal pH indicator, intended to be used alongside other clinical examinations, like the Amsel criteria or the Nugent Gram stain. It aids in identifying conditions characterized by elevated vaginal pH, such as bacterial vaginitis.

Comprised of a vaginal swab coated with an innovative proprietary polymer, the NUVETEST contains a colorimetric pH indicator called Nitrazine Yellow. The polymer, initially yellow in color, undergoes a visible change when it comes into contact with fluids having an elevated pH level. The user can observe a blue or green stain on the yellow background, indicating the presence of elevated pH.
