Description
The Solana Strep Complete Assay is a rapid in vitro diagnostic test designed to detect Group A β-hemolytic Streptococcus (Streptococcus pyogenes) and pyogenic Group C/G (Streptococcus dysgalactiae) nucleic acids from throat swab specimens of patients presenting with symptoms of pharyngitis, such as a sore throat. When performed on the Solana instrument, this assay provides fast and accurate detection of Group A and pyogenic Group C/G Strep without the need for culture confirmation.
The sample is lysed using a simple heat treatment method, diluted, and added to two Reaction Tubes containing specific primers and probes for each target. The inclusion of competitive process control (PRC) in the Lysis Tube ensures monitoring of sample processing, inhibitory substances, reagent failure, or instrument failure. Results are conveniently displayed on the instrument's touchscreen and can be saved, printed, and exported through USB ports. The powerful Virena platform supports the Solana Strep Complete Assay.
