I'm a medical student in rotations and my old pen-light ran out of battery, so I decided to buy these. These lights do work, have the correct pupil gauge, but the light is BLINDING for my patients. It causes them to have longer-lasting spottiness than normal penlights. I tried on myself and boy, i had trouble seeing for a minute or so, even though I only flashed it in my eye for 1 second. Other pen lights my colleagues use are not too bright, we use these medical devices to check for pupil dilation/constriction d/t medication OD or TBI, not to cause temporary blindness.

Two months into using them. So far so good.
