Description
The Sofia Strep A+ Fluorescent Immunoassay (FIA) is designed to detect Group A Streptococcal antigens from throat swabs of symptomatic patients using advanced immunofluorescence-based lateral-flow technology. It is used with the Sofia 2, a compact benchtop analyzer with advanced fluorescence detection and an ultraviolet LED energy source.
The Sofia 2 collects numerous data points from the test strip within the Sofia FIA Test Cassette and employs proprietary algorithms to automatically analyze the data, interpret the signals, and provide objective and reliable results. The package includes a leased analyzer, an installation pack, and three Strep A kits.
